"The Tartan Witch", a children's book written in English and Scots by Greta Yorke, illustrated by Maggie Bolton
"The Tartan Witch" is a delightful wee cultural children's story told in both English and Scots languages. Author Greta Yorke hopes the book will be adapted by Education Scotland as an official teaching aid for promoting the Scots language as directed by the Scottish government's "Scots Language Policy" of 2015.

Besides the famous TV show, "Monarch of the Glen," a bit of Scottish history played out at Ardverikie Estate when Queen Victoria considered buying it for the Royal residence in Scotland. If not for Scotland's infamous midges, who sent Victoria packing, Ardverikie might never have become known as "Glenbogle."
